KHSTA UPDATE
Happy Friday!
Heading into the home stretch! We hope everyone is enjoying the weather…fingers crossed it will stay nice until the end of the school year!
Updates come out every Friday EXCEPT for the last Friday of the quarter (the KHSTA Newsletter will arrive on these dates). Please check your junk mail folder if you are not receiving them. Past updates will be archived on the KHSTA website (khsta.org).
DAY OF THE EDUCATOR
Sierra Service Center will be hosting the Day of the Educator celebration on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 4 - 7 pm at Stramler Park. This is a family friendly event with food, kids activities, and raffle prizes. It is open to all members and their families. If you have a club or group that would like to volunteer, any help would be appreciated. To RSVP or to sign your club up to volunteer, we have attached the flyer.
RETIRING THIS YEAR?

SPRING ELECTIONS
We will be holding an election when we return for a State delegate position and a number of site rep positions that are empty. If you want to get involved, this is a great opportunity. State council members serve a three year term and the site reps will serve one year. Schools with site rep openings are Frontier (1), Golden Valley (1), Highland (1), Stockdale (1), District Office (1), Vista (1), and Nueva (1). The election timeline should be out next week.
10 MINUTE MEETINGS
Your site reps will be doing monthly 10 minute meetings to help keep you informed. April’s Topic will be Know Your SISC Benefits. There are a number of benefits that SISC offers that can assist in managing your health. This month’s 10 minute meeting will go into detail about some of these benefits. The handouts/presentations from the 10 Minute Meetings are archived on the khsta.com website.
VIRTUAL TEN MINUTE MEETING
If you missed your site’s 10 minute meeting this month or if your site didn’t hold one, KHSTA exec board will be doing a Zoom meeting on the second Thursday of the month, at 8:00am and again at 4:00pm -- the next one on May 14th.This month’s topic is SISC Benefits.
