We are pleased to announce that the Kern High School Teachers Association has reached a Tentative Agreement with the Kern High School District.
Highlights of the Tentative Agreement include a 3% on-schedule salary increase and District paid health and welfare benefit costs for the 2015-16 school year.
The salary increase will be reflected on the December pay warrant. Retroactive pay beginning July 1, 2015 until November 30, 2015 will be paid on the January pay warrant.
Beginning July 1, 2016, bargaining unit members receiving a fixed stipend will transition to a percentage of the salary schedule and those percentages will reflect the additional salary schedule increase.
Details of the Tentative Agreement will be available soon.
Our next step is to convene a meeting of the Executive Board for recommendation of the Tentative Agreement to the Representative Council. The Representative Council will then convene to recommend the TA to the general membership for ratification. The general membership will have an opportunity to ratify the Tentative Agreement prior to December 7, 2015.
The District plans on submitting the Tentative Agreement to the KHSD Board of Trustees for Board ratification on December 7th.
Once the Tentative Agreement is ratified by the Board of Trustees and the General Membership of our bargaining unit, the changes will take affect.
I would like to thank all of you for your support throughout this process and would like to specifically thank all of you who attended the Board of Trustees meeting last Monday night. It made a difference.
